Art Love: Abstract Color Patch Paintings

I am not sure exactly how to describe this collection of paintings that I have recently found myself drawn to, but they all seem to have large patches of color and expressive abstract brushwork. I have noticed this style also cropping up as a trend in the design and fashion worlds. Paint definitely seems to be having a moment. Below are a few of the pieces that I am loving right now.

Dare to Dream then DO IT!

Today is my last day as a full-time employee. It is pretty surreal - I knew this day was coming for a long time, and yet it still has snuck up on me! Next week I am transitioning into a part-time schedule with True&Co. and starting up with some new clients that I am very excited about. Basically I am going to be busy from day 1 - and I truly feel lucky for that!

This week has actually been more emotional than I thought it would be - the reality of this big life change really set in - and I feel both a deep sense of fear and also incredible excitement.

I dared to dream - and now I really have to do it. So scary and so exciting.

Portfolio: She Walks in Beauty (+ Light)

Throughout the next few weeks I am going to post a few of the projects in my portfolio! This first one is the branding that I collaborated on for True&Co.'s first private label line. The collection was inspired by a Lord Byron poem which refers to a transformational, illuminating experience. The Fall 2013 collection also draws inspiration from space and space travel. Nikki Dekker, the designer of the collection imagined an adventurous woman that travelled back and forth between the 1920's and a galaxy in the distant future.
