Having fun with color-themed posting over on @shoppetheory - I have been sharing a bunch of our work from last year too 💛
It is becoming so clear to me after several of my 1:1 mentoring sessions how much creatives struggle with the overwhelm of working on their own brand and presenting their value to the world. I know I do, and it’s why I wrote this e-book to help creatives (especially designers!) take on their personal branding as if they are their own client. The helpful prompts and clear step by step process will guide you to get out of the Pinterest trap and start working on your business! What do you struggle with most in your creative business?
My girl is getting so big (and sporting the @shoppetheory yellow we have going on right now!) last week I posted on @freelancewisdom stories that I was looking to try out mentoring at a reduced rate. I wasn’t expecting many replies and was blown away when all 6 slots were purchased within a few days! I am also trying out a group session and 3/4 spots are filled (send me a dm if you are interested in that last spot!). I am very excited (and nervous) for this new business offering helping out fellow creative women ❤️
Painted for fun last night! It’s been awhile! More experiments in my stories. Calling this little one “stacking bowls, blue”
For several years now I have dreamed up creating a kids related brand/blog where I can share my thoughts on motherhood, create fun diy art projects, and design a line of kids products. It has been at the back of my brain for awhile and at different points I got closer to actually starting it. But every time it feels like life got in the way, from personal family loss to the joys and challenges of a new pregnancy and baby. It still isn’t the right moment because I have so little time to work and have bills to pay (NYC living isn’t cheap). I also enjoy my work with Shoppe Theory and have lots of hopes and dreams for the @freelancewisdom community that sometimes I feel like I am trying to do too much. But this idea of a colorful design-centric and honest mom brand has remained in my brain, and I have decided if I still feel excited about it in a year or so then I should pursue it. We are always pressured to “just start now” but sometimes it isn’t the right time and you will end up feeling burnt out or not doing the quality of work you dreamed of. Anybody else feel this pressure to do it all at once??
